(R)evolution in the motor vehicle trade and industry. In all fields of work and daily life there are going to be tremendous radical changes due to WEB 4.0 (ubiquitous web), Smart Grid and Smart Home. In the motor vehicle field the red-hot subjects are WEB 4.0, electro-mobility and innovations in the field of vehicle technology (e.g. assistance systems and networked cars), of which the electro-mobility is the most urgent challenge of the immediate future. This project is the long awaited answer to three current developments, which will have massive impacts on the survival of smaller and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). On the one hand, those developments can endanger workplaces, but on the other hand they can give an opportunity to new economic, professional and social possibilities. The project is about the wide spread use of WEB 4.0 in the motor vehicle industry, alternative drives with special focus on electro-mobility, which aim at a decrease of CO2 emissions, and new innovative fields of vehicle technology. Although it is the car industry’s job, to transpose those technological and economical developments, there is also a need for initiatives, like this project, to guarantee an affiliation with this (r)evolution for the small and middle sized business structures as well as their (future) employees. Specific solutions for SMEs and (future) employees. In the context of this work we will, in four work-packages, develop a training concept, which itself can be expanded in its depth´s and width´s. In the first work-package we will develop several multimedia courses. In the second work-package we will establish an internet platform that will enable a fast exchange of information between teachers, tutors and students. In the third work-package we will design target aimed course modules as interactive evening sessions including the course materials. Furthermore we also want to plan “Electro-Mobility Days” for the general public. The modules that need to be developed shall boost the evolution of qualified employees, the know-how of technicians, sales assistants and entrepreneurs (especially for SMEs). They take the consequences of the so called innovation on all technical and commercial work profiles into consideration and support the professional competence change (Change Management). They should also be a preparation to future modifications in the motor vehicle business and find their proper place in the respective training programs. Finally in the fourth work-package one or more apps – which help to buy a new car by taking into account the level of CO2 emissions – will be developed. They involve the self-determined consumer actively in the project activities. A project with the support of institutions and the sector. The survey about the project´s contents and goals shows a very positive result in its entirety with automotive guilds, sector associations (TRAXIO (BE), BOVAG (NL)), entrepreneurs and teachers of the automotive trade and business. The project´s aim fulfills an urgent need, namely making mega trends in the automotive sector for SMEs, their employees and entrepreneurs available and usable. A major objective of the project is, to support companies (SMEs) and qualified employees of the motor vehicle business by initiating the change to alternative transmission technologies, innovative vehicle technologies as well as new industry and sales models and by helping them to put all of these aims successfully into practice. Otherwise – just as in other fields – jobs will be at stake. If companies want to survive and to develop even further in the automotive field, they need to adapt to the changed market conditions and create new trading areas. The trading areas can arise thanks to the new technologies in the vehicles, just like “driver assistance system in the motor vehicle workshop workday” and even more so “electro-mobility”. The project has as a main goal to support the companies – especially the ones in the “Euregio Maas-Rhein (EMR)” region – with the above mentioned measures. This will secure already existing jobs and it will particularly guarantee that there will be sufficient training places at hand in the future. Thankfully the project will enable a strengthening of the local network in the different partner regions, where companies and educational institutions work together. Furthermore a well-established and good working knowledge field will be established through the cooperation between establishments of the general and vocational school education, companies and sectors as well as colleges, of which all participating institutions will benefit (win-win).
