In recent years there has been an increase in labour globalization and mobility of labour. It is important that the involved partner understand each other's legislation; practical possibilities; demographics; educational and skills challenges. Strengthened this understanding will support the vision of a greater common labour market in the Fehmarn Belt Region. Experience from previous Interreg IV A project "VET Qualification System" (2010-2013) shows that it is not the academic content of vocational training which is an obstacle to cross-border mobility, but other barriers such as language, culture, attitudes and lack of knowledge the conditions and possibilities. The project aims to motivate students / apprentices and jobseekers to search internship / job in the neighbouring country. The project creates a completely new and low-threshold offer for apprentices/ students and jobseekers so the experienced barriers will reduce. Both employees and employers will have a greater supply of jobs and labour force, if there becomes an increasingly focus on opportunities across the border. This will eventually help to minimize bottlenecks of labour in the labour market, thereby strengthening the region's growth potential. In view of the activity, such as job swap, workshops and exchange of apprentices and the lessons learned, the partners will launch initiatives and develop cooperation agreementsthat are valid beyond the projects end. The project focuses on the eastern part of the region, because there is a need for activities and collaborations that supports this part of the region in creating a more natural expectation for the cross-border opportunities. Network Partners like a Commuter Office in Padborg and IHK Flensburg will help to ensure consistency in the efforts throughout the region. The project's ambitious approach, in which all relevant stakeholders in the development of the labour market in the Fehmarn Belt Region participate, will break new ground in order to increase mobility in the Fehmarn Belt Region.
