The area of the project and more specifically the Municipality of Giżycko (PL) and the City of Sovieck (RU) is characterized by a huge cultural diversity, many historical places and the beauty of numerous valuable natural areas. Unfortunately, the passage of time and insufficient financial resources of both Partners contributed to the deepening devastation of historically valuable places as well as insufficient infrastructure that would increase the tourist attractiveness of both cities. At the same time, the low interest of subsequent generations in cultivating local traditions and the strong influx of Western culture are increasingly observed. The challenge for the project partners is to strengthen cooperation and present the richness and diversity of border areas to a wide group of recipients, thus increasing the attractiveness of the image of the entire region. Project partners set themselves the goal of raising the living standard of the inhabitants and economic development of the region based on the use of the potential of historical and natural heritage in tourism. The beneficiaries of the project will be numerous tourists visiting Giżycko and Sovetsk. The indirect beneficiary will be the local population (73,500 people) who will find new jobs in tourism (shops, restaurants, sale of souvenirs and local products, sleeping places and other tourist attractions to enrich the offer). The project implementation will have a cross-border character, necessary to promote the valuable cultural, historical and natural heritage of the border areas. The lack of sufficient financial resources in the partners' own budgets for the planned scope of activities is a huge barrier. Therefore, the joint work of PL and RU partners with EU co-financing is a prerequisite for the project's success while building a joint cooperation. Strong partners’ involvement will contribute to increase the region attractiveness, resulting in tourists influx and economic development. (Polish)

La zone du projet et plus particulièrement la municipalité de Giżycko (PL) et la ville de Sovieck (RU) se caractérise par une grande diversité culturelle, de nombreux lieux historiques et la beauté de nombreuses zones naturelles précieuses. Malheureusement, le passage du temps et l’insuffisance des ressources financières des deux partenaires ont contribué à l’aggravation de la dévastation de lieux historiquement précieux ainsi qu’à l’insuffisance des infrastructures qui accroîtraient l’attrait touristique des deux villes. Dans le même temps, on observe de plus en plus le faible intérêt des générations suivantes pour les traditions locales cultivées et le fort afflux de la culture occidentale. Le défi pour les partenaires du projet est de renforcer la coopération et de présenter la richesse et la diversité des zones frontalières à un large groupe de bénéficiaires, augmentant ainsi l’attractivité de l’image de l’ensemble de la région. Les partenaires du projet se sont fixé pour objectif d’améliorer le niveau de vie des habitants et le développement économique de la région en s’appuyant sur l’utilisation du potentiel du patrimoine historique et naturel dans le tourisme. Les bénéficiaires du projet seront de nombreux touristes visitant Giżycko et Sovetsk. Le bénéficiaire indirect sera la population locale (73 500 personnes) qui trouvera de nouveaux emplois dans le tourisme (boutiques, restaurants, vente de souvenirs et de produits locaux, lieux de couchage et autres attractions touristiques pour enrichir l’offre). La mise en œuvre du projet aura un caractère transfrontalier, nécessaire pour promouvoir le précieux patrimoine culturel, historique et naturel des zones frontalières. Le manque de ressources financières suffisantes dans les budgets des partenaires pour la portée prévue des activités constitue un obstacle énorme. Par conséquent, le travail conjoint des partenaires PL et RU avec le cofinancement de l’UE est une condition préalable au succès du projet tout en établissant une coopération conjointe. Une forte participation des partenaires contribuera à accroître l’attractivité de la région, ce qui entraînera l’afflux de touristes et le développement économique. (French)

Das Projektgebiet und insbesondere die Gemeinde Giżycko (PL) und die Stadt Sovieck (RU) zeichnen sich durch eine große kulturelle Vielfalt, viele historische Orte und die Schönheit zahlreicher wertvoller Naturgebiete aus. Leider trug der Zeitübergang und die unzureichenden finanziellen Ressourcen beider Partner zur Vertiefung historisch wertvoller Orte und unzureichender Infrastruktur bei, die die touristische Attraktivität beider Städte erhöhen würde. Gleichzeitig wird das geringe Interesse der nachfolgenden Generationen an der Kultivierung lokaler Traditionen und des starken Zustroms der westlichen Kultur zunehmend beobachtet. Die Herausforderung für die Projektpartner besteht darin, die Zusammenarbeit zu stärken und den Reichtum und die Vielfalt der Grenzgebiete einer breiten Gruppe von Empfängern zu präsentieren und so die Attraktivität des Images der gesamten Region zu erhöhen. Projektpartner haben sich das Ziel gesetzt, den Lebensstandard der Einwohner und die wirtschaftliche Entwicklung der Region auf der Grundlage der Nutzung des Potenzials des historischen und natürlichen Erbes im Tourismus zu erhöhen. Die Begünstigten des Projekts werden zahlreiche Touristen sein, die Giżycko und Sovetsk besuchen. Der indirekte Begünstigte ist die lokale Bevölkerung (73.500 Personen), die neue Arbeitsplätze im Tourismus finden wird (Shops, Restaurants, Verkauf von Souvenirs und lokalen Produkten, Schlafplätze und andere touristische Attraktionen, um das Angebot zu bereichern). Die Projektdurchführung wird einen grenzüberschreitenden Charakter haben, der notwendig ist, um das wertvolle kulturelle, historische und natürliche Erbe der Grenzgebiete zu fördern. Das Fehlen ausreichender Finanzmittel in den eigenen Haushalten der Partner für den geplanten Tätigkeitsbereich stellt ein großes Hindernis dar. Daher ist die gemeinsame Arbeit von PL und EVU-Partnern mit EU-Kofinanzierung eine Voraussetzung für den Erfolg des Projekts beim Aufbau einer gemeinsamen Zusammenarbeit. Het gebied van het project en meer bepaald de gemeente Giżycko (PL) en de stad Sovieck (RU) worden gekenmerkt door een enorme culturele diversiteit, vele historische plaatsen en de schoonheid van talrijke waardevolle natuurgebieden. Helaas droegen de tijdsverloop en de ontoereikende financiële middelen van beide partners bij tot de toenemende verwoesting van historisch waardevolle plaatsen en tot onvoldoende infrastructuur die de toeristische aantrekkelijkheid van beide steden zou vergroten. Tegelijkertijd wordt de geringe belangstelling van de volgende generaties voor het kweken van lokale tradities en de sterke instroom van westerse cultuur steeds meer waargenomen. De uitdaging voor de projectpartners bestaat erin de samenwerking te versterken en de rijkdom en diversiteit van grensgebieden aan een brede groep begunstigden te presenteren, waardoor het imago van de hele regio aantrekkelijker wordt. De projectpartners hebben zich ten doel gesteld de levensstandaard van de inwoners en de economische ontwikkeling van de regio te verhogen op basis van het gebruik van het potentieel van historisch en natuurlijk erfgoed in het toerisme. De begunstigden van het project zijn tal van toeristen die Giżycko en Sovetsk bezoeken. De indirecte begunstigde is de lokale bevolking (73.500 mensen) die nieuwe banen zal vinden in het toerisme (winkels, restaurants, verkoop van souvenirs en lokale producten, slaapplaatsen en andere toeristische attracties om het aanbod te verrijken). De uitvoering van het project zal een grensoverschrijdend karakter hebben dat nodig is om het waardevolle culturele, historische en natuurlijke erfgoed van de grensgebieden te bevorderen. Het gebrek aan voldoende financiële middelen in de eigen begrotingen van de partners voor de geplande activiteiten vormt een enorme belemmering. Daarom is het gezamenlijke werk van PL- en spoorwegondernemingen met EU-cofinanciering een voorwaarde voor het welslagen van het project bij het opbouwen van een gezamenlijke samenwerking. Een sterke betrokkenheid van de partners zal ertoe bijdragen dat de regio aantrekkelijker wordt, met als gevolg een toestroom van toeristen en economische ontwikkeling. (Dutch)

L'area del progetto e più specificamente il comune di Giżycko (PL) e la città di Sovieck (RU) sono caratterizzati da un'enorme diversità culturale, da molti luoghi storici e dalla bellezza di numerose aree naturali di pregio. Purtroppo, il passare del tempo e le insufficienti risorse finanziarie di entrambi i partner hanno contribuito all'accresciuta devastazione di luoghi di valore storico e infrastrutture insufficienti che aumenterebbero l'attrattiva turistica di entrambe le città. Allo stesso tempo, si osserva sempre più spesso il basso interesse delle generazioni successive a coltivare le tradizioni locali e il forte afflusso della cultura occidentale. La sfida per i partner del progetto è rafforzare la cooperazione e presentare la ricchezza e la diversità delle zone di confine a un ampio gruppo di destinatari, aumentando così l'attrattiva dell'immagine dell'intera regione. I partner del progetto si prefiggono l'obiettivo di innalzare il tenore di vita degli abitanti e lo sviluppo economico della regione sulla base dell'utilizzo del potenziale del patrimonio storico e naturale nel turismo. I beneficiari del progetto saranno numerosi turisti che visiteranno Giżycko e Sovetsk. Il beneficiario indiretto sarà la popolazione locale (73.500 persone) che troverà nuovi posti di lavoro nel turismo (negozi, ristoranti, vendita di souvenir e prodotti locali, posti letto e altre attrazioni turistiche per arricchire l'offerta). L'attuazione del progetto avrà carattere transfrontaliero, necessario per promuovere il prezioso patrimonio culturale, storico e naturale delle zone di confine. La mancanza di risorse finanziarie sufficienti nei bilanci dei partner per la portata delle attività previste costituisce un ostacolo enorme. Pertanto, il lavoro congiunto dei partner del PL e dell'IF con il cofinanziamento dell'UE è un prerequisito per il successo del progetto, sviluppando nel contempo una cooperazione congiunta. Un forte coinvolgimento dei partner contribuirà ad aumentare l'attrattiva della regione, con conseguente afflusso di turisti e sviluppo economico. (Italian)

La zona del proyecto y más concretamente el municipio de Giżycko (PL) y la ciudad de Sovieck (RU) se caracteriza por una enorme diversidad cultural, muchos lugares históricos y la belleza de numerosos espacios naturales valiosos. Desafortunadamente, el paso del tiempo y los recursos financieros insuficientes de ambos socios contribuyeron a la profundización de la devastación de lugares históricamente valiosos, así como a una infraestructura insuficiente que aumentaría el atractivo turístico de ambas ciudades. Al mismo tiempo, se observa cada vez más el escaso interés de las generaciones posteriores por cultivar las tradiciones locales y la fuerte afluencia de la cultura occidental. El reto para los socios del proyecto es fortalecer la cooperación y presentar la riqueza y diversidad de las zonas fronterizas a un amplio grupo de beneficiarios, aumentando así el atractivo de la imagen de toda la región. Los socios del proyecto se fijaron el objetivo de elevar el nivel de vida de los habitantes y el desarrollo económico de la región sobre la base del uso del potencial del patrimonio histórico y natural en el turismo. Los beneficiarios del proyecto serán numerosos turistas que visiten Giżycko y Sovetsk. El beneficiario indirecto será la población local (73.500 personas) que encontrará nuevos puestos de trabajo en el turismo (tiendas, restaurantes, venta de recuerdos y productos locales, plazas para dormir y otros atractivos turísticos para enriquecer la oferta). La ejecución del proyecto tendrá un carácter transfronterizo, necesario para promover el valioso patrimonio cultural, histórico y natural de las zonas fronterizas. La falta de recursos financieros suficientes en los presupuestos propios de los socios para el alcance previsto de las actividades constituye un obstáculo enorme. Por lo tanto, el trabajo conjunto de los socios PL y RU con la cofinanciación de la UE es un requisito previo para el éxito del proyecto, al tiempo que se construye una cooperación conjunta. Una fuerte participación de los socios contribuirá a aumentar el atractivo de la región, lo que dará lugar a la afluencia de turistas y al desarrollo económico. (Spanish)
