Project adresses common cross-border challenge of integrating into sustainable cultural tourism offer and managing cultural heritage sites, especially archaeologial ones placed on the outskirts of urban areas that are oftenly physically endangered, neglected, inaccessible or poorly accessible, and that are poorly, if at all, presented and promoted. It also tackles the fact that cultural tourism management capacities vary considerably in the programme area, that tourism of experiences as a new trend on the market is underdeveloped. Main objective is to diversify and promote cultural tourism offer of historical cities by joint building of capacities in cultural management and tourism of experiences, new and improved tourism supporting facilities and or tourism infrastructure, particulary modernised exhibition of Ulcinj museum (O.I3.2), access facility on site of Rižinice (O.I1.2), interpretation center on Roman military camp on Gračine (O.I2.2), as well as cultural assets developed and improved - sites of Rižinice (O.I1.1), Old town Ljubuški (O.I2.1) and Shas (O.I3.1), as well as joint media campaign and thematic regional conference are the main outputs of the project. Target groups are regional and national public authorities, infrastructure and public service providers and interest groups including NGOs that will get improved cultural tourism infrastructure and built capacities in cultural (tourism) management, higher education and research, education center and school, general public . By revitalization of peripheral archeological sites, knowledge exchange and capacity building, as well as by joint promotion and and inclusion of target sites in a sustainable cultural and tourism offer of partner cities, we will contribute to positioning the hole programme area on European level as territory rich in cultural heritage and improve socio-economic context of our cities and programme area.
