Nowdays, cross-border tourism offer is divided, disconnected and touristicaly dislocated. It is characterized by low tourist migration, low number of visitors and overnight stays. Main reason for this unsatisfactory situation lies in the fact that tourist infrastructure is undeveloped, existing locations and attractions insufficiently marked and promoted and lack additional contents that could provide destinations added-value. The proposed project aims, through the establishment of cross-border tourist route, contribute to the solution of specific tourism problems and constraints in mentioned area in order to increase destinations tourism traffic, to enhance opportunities to increase spending per visitor. Project's approach is also the preservation of historical heritage located along the thematic way of cross-border area and development of new tourist destinations and facilities on thematic way. Creation of joint tourism services and joint marketing and promotional materials of partners' locations and strengthening of the tourism service providers capacities is also one of the very important approaches. Specific objectives are: Preserve and restore cultural, historical and natural heritage assets in the cross-border partnership area (Banja Luka, Garešnica, Lipik) through the creation of 116 km of joint tourism routes and Improve the competitiveness of cross-border tourism service providers (public and private). Target groups are private and public tourism service providers, local public authorities and overall cross-border population. Project products: improved cultural assets (Trappist heritage locations, Lipik history in church tower, border guards water routes) and created new tourism infrastructure, increased level of target groups knowledge and skills, promoted joint tourism offer. Added value: created joint cross-border tourism packages, established joint cooperation and promotion, cultural exhibits exchanged, sustainable partnership.. (English)
