Major challenges of all partner countries concerning melanoma are: low public awareness of melanoma and importants of early detection; lack of knowledge of new methods of treatment of melanoma in Health Proffessionals; inadequate equipment for educational and medical activities; outdated treatment methods; a national register of patients with melanoma does not exist. Project will contribute to the minimization of the low public awareness of melanoma by organization of informative days and raisinig awarness campaigns. Health and Pseudo Health Professionals will get new knowledge of new methods of treatment by getting specialized education, network of Health Experts will be established in cross border area. New equipment will be procured for educational and medical activities. The main project objective is raising awareness for early detection of ocular, skin and mucosal melanoma. Early detected Melanoma has high chances of survival (95% cured). Detected late melanoma has fatal prognosis (median survival 6 to 9 months). There are 3 main target groups in project: health professional, pseudo-health professionals and population. Health professions include general practitioners, Dermatologists, Oncologists, Paediatrics, Surgeons (general, plastic, maxilla-facial, NTE), Dentists, Nurses, Physiotherapists and Students of Department of Health Studies. Pseudo-health professionals are defined as Hairdressers, Beauticians, Opticians and Optometrists. Population is defined as random population. Data gathered through e-health platform and check-ups via new medical equipment will add to research value and improve future treatment methods. Authorities will have at dispose educational materials and established procedures via project created Action plan useful to act against melanoma disease in future. Project will influence to improvement of melanoma diagnostics and prevention that will lead to improvement of public health, reducing of melanoma incidence and mortality. (English)
