PA.CON aims to contribute to the development of sustainable tourism by utilization and activation of unused natural resources of the CBC region. Common CBC problems: unused natural assets for tourism development, lack of adequate tourist infrastructure, low level of utilization of bird-watching tourism potential; underdeveloped human resources for tourism, uneven and “low reach” promotion of tourist attractions. Approach: continue building on the experience, available knowledge, and existing results of previous EU projects by gathering relevant partners who add value to PA.CON outputs. There is a significant knowledge base among partners, and PA.CON is a logical follow-up of previous actions in tourism development. Partners are highly motivated to employ their experience in solving the challenges in CBC region. PA.CON will enable better use of natural assets linked to bird-watching and will thus develop a new joint tourism offer - PA.CON regional thematic route, which will attract new visitors. PA.CON outputs are: 3 natural assets in Nijemci, Tuzla, and Skadar Lake area improved and made accessible to visitors, 150 target group representatives trained in order to improve capacities in the destination management and quality assurance system. All this will lead to 5000 new visitors in the CBC region. Target group: tourism actors, local population, tourists, tourism service providers, education institutions/schools, NGOs and sports clubs, local businesses. CBC added value is in the use of common natural assets and employing bird fund as the tourism potential to attract new visitors. CBC impact is in the joint work of partners employing their resources & expertise to activate natural resources for tourism, and by transferring their know-how onto one another. The CBC Partners will further develop their capacities and strengthen the partnership for the development of new joint CBC projects. (English)
