The Project „Mest op Maat – Dünger nach Maß“ deals with the whole chain of economic value added in case of conditioning and usage of manure as fertilizer and energy substrate. The fields of activity start from the manure along the direct usage as a fertilizer or as an energy delivering substrate to the preparation towards technical fertilizers and input-substrates for biogas plants. The focus of these circumstances lies in Germany and the Netherlands especially in regions with a high amount of cattle breeding. The project’s structure is divided into two parts: First, the field of conditioning of manure to fertilizers and second, the conditioning of manure to an energy-substrate for biogas plants. Initial differences and similarities on German and Dutch sides are about to be evaluated with focus on innovative and efficient technologies. Additionally field trips are planned to visit and to evaluate prototypically raised plants in both countries. Following this, the concepts for conditioning of manure will be developed for sites with various site capacities. Supporting experiments in laboratories and in technical dimensions at cattle sheds and biogas plants will be carried out. All focussed technologies are efficient and ground-breaking. Only the newest and available technologies for the conditioning of manure and digestate will be further developed. Promising technologies are also tested in practical manner at suitable cattle sheds, manure sharing institutions and biogas plants. The results are well-engineered technologies for conditioning of cattle and pig manure in various site capacities. These developed plants will produce saleable fertilizers. Transboundary expert workshops of German and Dutch stakeholders will develop sustainable concepts for conditioning as well as products based on the particular specification of the market. To complete the project these concepts are proofed for consolidation and validation in case of their economic feasibility. The aim is (English)
