The Saami civil society has identified a need to explore ways and means on how to protect Sami people intellectual property rights and to encourage economic growth for the Sami people when Sami culture is used commercially. The second objective of the micro project is to build capacity on intellectual property rights in the local communities. There is a need to build strong and resilient network in order to empower the Sami people on intellectual property rights. The third objective of the micro project is to learn from partners internationally that also are facing the same challenges. As protection of intellectual property rights is a global concern there is a need to identify best practises, establish a robust international network and find strong key partners. (English)
