Equestrian culture is our very valuable cultural heritage and nowadays increasingly becoming a driving force of the tourism in the Hungarian-Serbian border. And yet the equestrian sports and their tourism potentials are not adequately exploited in the cross border regions. The project intends to create such an integrated approach, which tackle this border territory as a common tourist area. Overall beneficiaries of the project are Hungarian and Serbian local citizens and tourists/potential visitors who are interested in equestrian sport events in the target area. Direct target groups of the activities are: experts, sportsmen, children, youth, Craftsmen, toolmakers, manufacturers or distributors of riding equipment, producers of traditional equestrian costume and other accessories, various tourism service providers and rural hosts; other stakeholders as horse farms, equestrian clubs, private, public national, regional and local tourist organizations, travel agencies, tour operators etc. Project's main objective is to popularize equestrian sports and develop a tourism offer based on them in Bács- Kiskun, Csongrád counties and Vojvodina which will promote them, thereby contributing to promotion of the border region. The backbone of the project will be the jointly organized and conducted equestrian sport events (equestrian festivals, Hungarian derby, Serbian open national championship, etc.) which will attract domestic and foreign visitors/tourists who are interested in sport, leisure or show featured happenings. The main result of the joint action will be the coordinated implementation of equestrian sports events based on cultural and natural heritage that will manifest in enhanced attractiveness of cross border region for domestic and foreign tourists.
