Hrodna and Sokółka are located in less than 40 km from each other. At the time of the last Polish king Poniatowski, the Royal Hrodna economy (included Hrodna and Sokółka) was led by one of the most prominent statesmen of the time, Antoni Tyzenhauz. Thanks to him cultural life was arisen in the nowadays cross-border region, especially founding of a theater and a choreographic school. The common tangible heritage of Sokółka and Hrodna was promoted during the project “Tyzenhauz trail”. But it’s needed to revive and popularize music tradition and theater performances, due to its importance for the royal atmosphere existing here for many centuries. Objective: preservation and popularization of unique regional musical and performance traditions, through the revival of the common intangible cultural heritage of Hrodna and Sokółka during the times of Antoni Tyzenhauz (late 18th century). We will: - revive the tradition of musical royal “Thursday Lunches” of Poniatowski in Hrodna and Sokółka with a public discussion of culture and art of that times - draw attention of the talented youth to the times of Poniatowski through a contest for creation of the Tyzenhauz hejnał and theatrical cues - create interactive multilingual web pages on the sites of the TIC, cities councils and professional associations of Hrodna and Sokółka, dedicated to Tyzenhauz and his merits - attract tourists in region by creating unique music brands and thematic excursions with working titles "Avenues of Love" (BY) and "Royal Walk" (PL)Project will benefit: - residents of the region, including talented youth (by creating conditions for self-realization and cultural leisure, strengthening the image of Hrodna and Sokółka as cultural centers) - tourist organizations (by creating tourist product based on common heritage) - tourists of the region Project aims can be achieved only through the cross-border approach, joint activities will allow to raise the attention of tourists and residents to common heritage of the region.
