The main objective of the project is to increase the popularity of Belasitsa and raise the competitiveness of the CBC region’s tourist offer on trans-border scale. A number of alternative tourist initiatives will be organized, promoted and held in the two countries. There are 5 joint touristic products/events: Belasitsa Active Weekend (consisting of three trail running, one mountain bike and promotional side events); Bike Tour Belasitsa; Belasitsa Bike for children; elaboration of 2 thematic bike trails. Additionally 3 joint leaflets, 5 promotional video clips and 1 short film are planned to reach more than 8000 people. The expected project results are: creation of sustainable alternative tourism products/events; demonstration of the potential of the cross-border area of Belasitsa for alternative active tourism; creation of a common image of Belasitsa cross border region; raise the competitiveness of the CBC region’s tourist offer; and creation of numerous personal and professional contacts between bikers, trail runners and visitors from the two countries.
