The SB regions’ natural & cultural heritage sites hold a significant potential in the field of wellbeing tourism, which is highly called for in today’s society. SB WELL aims at promoting SB coastline as attractive destination for wellbeing tourism among regional/international potential visitors. Wellbeing &wellness are fast growing trends in tourism. The niche is growing 50% faster than tourism overall and both international & national wellness tourists spend more than average tourist(ca 65%;150% respectively). SB WELL recognizes the opportunities & facilitates SMEs in offering products/services in wellb. tourism and makes related information visible &accessible for target market. Key activities of SB WELL aim to contribute to development/promotion of SB coastline as sustainable tourist destination (PSO 2.1) in particular in wellb. segment since it contributes to individual & regional wellbeing. It’ll be done through interdisciplinary activities based on stakeholder participation,cross-border network of actors with aspiration to work for promoting wellbeing in the region. Project's core structure is based on expression "co-create" taking cross-border collaborative approach to promote SB as a destination for wellbeing tourism. The aim is to develop innovative tools, strategies for future development of wellbeing tourism customized for the SB region. The most efficient methods for increasing visibility/attractiveness are ensured by identification of key visitors& innovative marketing tools that aim at increasing awareness & attractiveness of the SB region as a sustainable destination. Some of expected project results are increased awareness among potential visitors on what SB region has to offer with regard to wellbeing/clear branding of the coastal region as a competitive actor on the global market in offering sustainable services/products. It’ll lead to increased development as well as popularity of the SB's natural & cultural heritage assets into tourism destinations. Information added on 2020-05-20, regarding the mitigation of the effects of COVID-19 (the coronavirus pandemic that started in 2019) (English language only): SB WELL keeps regional online meetings with tourism businesses, and closed social media groups, where companies are invited to share challenges and solutions with each other. The SB WELL team supports with advice, active listening, and information on funding and free expertise opportunities for mitigation. We also collaborate closely with regional authorities. (English)
