The strategic goal of the project – to increase cross-border cooperation of fire and rescue services operating in both sides of the Lithuanian-Belarusian border regions, in order to develop more integrated and better quality governance and services, to deal with disaster response and damage control, ensuring the safety of border residents, property and the environment. This project is necessary of knowledge and skills shortage, of the current lack of enforcement on the common border provision of rescue services, restricting proper quality assurance and efficiency of environmental emergency response extinguishing forests and open fire (peatland) fires. One of the solutions is organize the general theoretical and practical training and provide rescue services of the border region with special fire rescue equipment and facilities. (English)
