Project "Active and healthy cross border communities" is great example of cross border cooperation between Varėna sport center and Orzysz municipality by creating new active and healthy living environment for communities. As partners municipalities implements joint project aimed for strengthening families, this project is continuing to support cross border communities in joint sport events. Partners are solving joint problem - lack of knowledge how to do correct exercises and lack of cross border sport places where community members could spent their active leisure time and be healthy. During project implementation partners will promote cross border municipalities by organizing training for volunteers, local sport events, joint youth sports camps, joint cross border marathon, also create small scale infrastructure by purchasing sport equipment. The main goal of the project is by sharing experience and knowledge to provide high quality public services. As both cross border municipalities strives to provide high quality public services for their communities in that case progress for involving cross border volunteers in active sports events is very important. During project implementation there is planned to organize 1 joint training for volunteers, 5 local sport events, 2 joint camps, 1 closing conference with joint marathon, as well to create joint sport program "Children and youth at risk in sport". The project duration is 12 month. (English)
