Critical children health worsening has been observed in Lithuania and Belarus for the last decade - increasing morbidity and disability due to severe neurological diseases. However, health rehabilitating services are not accessible for those mostly in need. Public institution Abromiskes Rehabilitation Hospital (ABR) together with partners from LT and BY - namely sanatorium 'Belorus' (BEL) and Grodno Regional Centre of Medical Rehabilitation of Disabled Children and Children with Psycho-Neurological Disorders (GRC), have a significant experience in providing rehabilitation services for children with severe neurological diseases. However, organisations lack infrastructure, equipment and competencies necessary for the provision of the effective, improved and new market needs corresponding rehabilitation services. The main objective of the project - assurance of improved and accessible rehabilitation services for the children with severe neurological diseases in the cross-border region. Implementation of project activities will help to improve the quality and accessibility of 5 rehabilitation services, namely - kinesiotherapy, logotherapie, occupasional therapy, psychotherapy and physiotherapy for children with severe neurological diseases. In order to reach this aim, infrastructure of GRC will be improved, necessary equipment acquired, joint trainings, experience exchange and communication activities will be developed. (English)
