Project Partners want to achieve their objectives by implementing investment and non-investment activities divided into three interlinked specific tasks. Under task 1. – “Protection, conservation and modernisation of churches in Cieszyn and Dolný Kubín” – long-term damages of the church building in Dolný Kubín will be removed, then the windows on 1st and 2nd floor will be replaced and damaged paintings which are unique in Slovakia will be restored. At the church in Cieszyn, historical tombstones with epitaphs will be restored and two rooms will be made into a library, which will also be equipped with bookshelves. The museum will be additionally equipped with display cases. Under task 2. – “Shared journey on the cultural route” – common cross-border events related to the shared journey for almost 500 years will be organised. In the regions of Śląsk and Orawa, the 425th anniversary of the birth and 380th anniversary of the death of J. Trzanowski will be commemorated and the significance of his work will be recalled at the Orava Castle’s chapel. The shared history will also be presented during thematic excursions to the locations of “forest churches”. Under task 3. – “Creating common products of promotion and marketing” – not only a publication on a scientific theme for the general public will be published but also exhibitions on mobile boards will be organised and a tourist and informative map in partners’ languages will be issued which will ensure the increase of tourist traffic in partner cities. Thematic offers for school lessons will also be prepared, which will be intended to evoke in children and youth a sense of responsibility for the protection and development of the material and spiritual cultural heritage created by our common ancestors. At the end of the Project, both partners will organise a presentation of project’s results to a wide audience in order to raise regional awareness, increase cooperation and develop new partnerships for the development of culture, heritage and ecumenism.
