The problems of the border areas include missing road sections that would connect local roads on both sides of the border; there is a need to connect category 3 nodes to the TEN-T network. With the project, we will create a road network for both reconstructed and non-reconstructed road sections. It will be possible to exit the TEN-T route at the beginning of the Oščadnica section, drive through the town through the new border crossing point to Rajcza or towards TEN-T corridor in the main part of Zwardoń (and back). Section from the TEN-T network at the beginning of Oščadnica through the municipality: 4 km (reconstructed in the previous PL-SK programming period); the section will now be fully reconstructed on the Slovak side: 7,705 m from the town centre to the border; Total length of the PL section from the border to the connection with the TEN-T network: 5,595 m, including the reconstructed section of 3469 m. The reconstruction will not be implemented in the following road sections: 0 km–1.020 km; 1.649 km–1.730 km; 1.842 km–1.873 km; 2.231 km–3.127 km; 4.727 km–4.825 km. Length of the reconstructed section leading to the Rajcza centre: 10.2 km. With the described investment activities, we will develop a new cross-border connection, link the regional transport systems and simultaneously develop a new connection of 3rd category nodes to the TEN-T network (travelling from PL in the direction of Oščadnica and vice versa). The project involves the modernisation of roads in Oščadnica District on the Slovak side and in Gmina Rajcza on the Polish side. Modernisation involves works on the new asphalt surface. The road is intended for vehicles for passenger transport. Both investments will also cover water drainage works as well as installing safety barriers and new road signs. Both roads are C-category roads, which will be reclassified to the category A when the project is completed. It follows that the modernised road sections will have comparable technical parameters on both sides of the border. (English)
