Trappan Resurscenter shall help foreign-born women who are particularly far from the labor market to enter into employment, education or to become closer to the labor market. The purpose of the project is to work integrally with the problems: lack of language skills, lack of understanding of the Swedish labor market and Swedish society, as well as problems with physical and mental health. Trappan Resurscenter center combines studies in the Swedish language and Swedish social studies with internships at several workplaces in Örebro. The purpose is to create opportunities for the participants to develop a group affiliation outside their home and outside their own language group. The project aims to provide opportunities for participants to build their self-esteem, question traditional gender roles and feel that they can influence and take control of both their social situation and their physical and mental health. The project offers opportunities for participants to develop their network, make new professional and social contacts and gain better self-confidence. Trappan Resurscenter center offers theoretical tools for understanding the requirements and mechanisms of the Swedish labor market. We talk about the job search process, education requirements in different occupations, workplace cultures and rights and duties at the work place. All participants are given the opportunity to try work in different professions at different workplaces. They try different professions in order to make a choice for the future. They will try several different workplaces in order to feel free to make mistakes, learn from them and move on to the next internship period with realistic expectations and greater self-confidence. In addition to group education and internships, each participant is assigned a contact person among the Project coworkers. The contact person helps and supports in the participant in her job search process and offers support and advice on other issues that the participant may need help with. During a two-year period, 100 women will participate in the project. All activities in the project must have a clear focus on accessibility and non-discrimination. (Swedish)

(German)
