    IN LINE WITH THE OBJECTIVES SET OUT IN THE FRAMEWORK LAW NO 104 OF 92, AS AMENDED, OUR INSTITUTION HAS ALWAYS AS ITS OBJECTIVE TO INTEGRATE AND DEVELOP THE ACTIVITIES OF THE INDIVIDUAL IN LEARNING, COMMUNICATION, INTERPERSONAL RELATIONSHIPS OF PUPILS WITH DISABILITIES AND OF THOSE WHO ARE CONSIDERED ‘DEBOIL’ AND WHO ARE EXPERIENCING SOCIAL HARDSHIP. THE TEACHING PROFESSION, AS SET OUT IN THE PTOF, PROVIDES PERSONALISED EDUCATIONAL COURSES WHICH, STARTING FROM THE STUDENT’S KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE, ENABLE THEM TO DEVELOP PERSONAL AUTONOMY AND ACQUIRE TRANSVERSAL SKILLS THAT MAY BE USED IN THE LABOUR MARKET. GIVEN THE LARGE NUMBER OF PUPILS IN DISTRESS, A LARGE NUMBER OF THEM IN SERIOUS DIFFICULTIES, AND WITHOUT CONSTANT REFERENCE, THE FIGURE OF THE SPECIALIST TEACHING ASSISTANT HAS BECOME A PERMANENT AND ESSENTIAL PART OF THE WORK IN OUR INSTITUTION.
