THE ROAD MAINTENANCE COMPANY IN BREST

The implementation of automatic traffic management systems (ATMs) is the aim of the project in Brest. The introduction of ATMs will reduce the time of traffic working in the streets of Brest, with subsequent access to the TRANS-European corridor II (E- 30). It is expected to increase the capacity of the road network up to 15 - 20%, to reduce the accident rate by 10 - 15%, to reduce driving period by 10 to 15%, to increase transit attraction. The project in Biala Podlaska consists of the reconstruction of the crossroads Terebelska street and national road no 2, and reconstruction of the crossroads Solidarnosci avenue and national road no 2. The section of national road no 2 from Terebelska street till Solidarnosci avenue is used by both transit traffic and local traffic within the city of Biala Podlaska. The crossroad national road no 2 and Solidarnosci avenue is very serious place of traffic accidents. If the project receive funds, there will be built there a roundabout, in other case there will be installed a cheaper and less efficient alternative a traffic lights. The implementation of the project in Biala Podlaska will result in decrease of travel time by 18%. (Polish)

La mise en œuvre de systèmes automatiques de gestion du trafic (ATM) est l’objectif du projet à Brest. L’introduction des guichets automatiques permettra de réduire le temps de circulation dans les rues de Brest, avec l’accès ultérieur au corridor transeuropéen II (E-30). Il est prévu d’augmenter la capacité du réseau routier jusqu’à 15-20 %, de réduire le taux d’accidents de 10-15 %, de réduire la période de conduite de 10 à 15 %, d’augmenter l’attraction du transport en commun. Le projet à Biala Podlaska consiste en la reconstruction du carrefour de la rue Terebelska et de la route nationale no 2, et de la reconstruction du carrefour de l’avenue Solidarnosci et de la route nationale no 2. Le tronçon de la route nationale no 2 de la rue Terebelska jusqu’à l’avenue Solidarnosci est utilisé à la fois par le trafic de transit et le trafic local dans la ville de Biala Podlaska. La route nationale no 2 et l’avenue Solidarnosci sont un lieu très grave d’accidents de la circulation. Si le projet reçoit des fonds, il y sera construit un rond-point, dans d’autres cas, il sera installé une alternative moins chère et moins efficace un feu de circulation. La mise en œuvre du projet à Biala Podlaska entraînera une diminution du temps de déplacement de 18 %. (French)
