LA INTERNACIONALIZACION FORMA PARTE DE LOS PLANES ESTRATEGICOS DE LA UNIVERSIDAD ESPAÑOLA. ESTA LINEA ESTRATEGICA PROVOCA LA PRESENCIA INAPELABLE DEL INGLES COMO LENGUA ADICIONAL EN EL CONTEXTO ACADEMICO, TANTO POR SU ENSEÑANZA ESPECIFICA, COMO POR SU PAPEL COMO LENGUA VEHICULAR EN ALGUNAS ASIGNATURAS. ESTE ES EL CASO DEL GRADO INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS, ECONOMICS AND FINANCE (INBEF-UJI) EN LA UNIVERSITAT JAUME I, DONDE EL 50% SE IMPARTE EN INGLES. EL CONOCIMIENTO DE LOS GENEROS ACADEMICOS USADOS EN LA ENSEÑANZA SUPERIOR ES UNO DE LOS REQUISITOS QUE DEBEN CUMPLIR LOS ESTUDIANTES DE GRADO. ESTOS GENEROS TIENEN CARACTERISTICAS DISTINTIVAS Y LA MAYORIA POSEE UNA NATURALEZA MULTIMODAL Y MULTICANAL. LOS TEXTOS ESCRITOS SE COMBINAN CON HIPERVINCULOS, IMAGENES, COLORES; LAS COMUNICACIONES ORALES CONSTAN DE DISCURSO VERBAL Y NO VERBAL Y SE APOYAN EN IMAGENES DIGITALES, EN SONIDO O EN INTERACCIONES ENTRE DIFERENTES PARTICIPANTES; Y TODAS ELLAS SE TRANSMITEN MEDIANTE DISTINTOS CANALES: ORAL, ESCRITO, VISUAL, ENTRE OTROS. POR LO TANTO, EL PROCESO DE ENSEÑANZA-APRENDIZAJE DE LOS GENEROS UNIVERSITARIOS CONSTITUYE UN RETO PARA DOCENTES Y ESTUDIANTES, QUE ES MAYOR CUANDO SE CAMBIA LA LENGUA VEHICULAR. _x000D_ EN LOS ULTIMOS AÑOS, EL GRUPO DE INVESTIGACION GRAPE HA ESTUDIADO LAS CARACTERISTICAS DISCURSIVAS Y MULTIMODALES DE EVENTOS ACADEMICOS EN INGLES. ESTE PROYECTO PRETENDE IDENTIFICAR Y ANALIZAR DICHOS RASGOS DE LOS GENEROS DOCENTES UTILIZADOS POR PROFESORES IMPARTIENDO CLASES EN INGLES, Y SU RELACION CON LAS FUNCIONES PEDAGOGICAS QUE DESARROLLAN EN EL AULA. PARA ELLO EN EL EQUIPO INVESTIGADOR CONTAMOS CON DOCENTES CONOCEDORES DEL GRADO: 4 PROFESORES DE CONTENIDO QUE IMPARTEN DOCENCIA EN INGLES, EL PROFESOR RESPONSABLE DE LA ASIGNATURA DE LENGUA INGLESA, Y OTROS MIEMBROS DEL EQUIPO QUE HAN SIDO DOCENTES EN EL PASADO. TAMBIEN INCLUIMOS EN EL EQUIPO DE TRABAJO 3 ESTUDIANTES DE DICHO GRADO, ASI COMO 3 MIEMBROS DE UNIVERSIDADES EXTERNAS. ESTA HETEROGENEIDAD EN LOS EQUIPOS PUEDE PROPORCIONAR UNA MEJOR PERSPECTIVA DE LAS CARACTERISTICAS MULTIMODALES DE LOS GENEROS DOCENTES EN INGLES, SU RELACION CON LOS ESTILOS DE DOCENCIA Y EL CANAL DE TRASMISION, Y SU USO EN LA CLASE DE CONTENIDOS. EL FIN ULTIMO ES CONTRIBUIR AL EXITO DEL PROGRAMA DE SELLO INTERNACIONAL INBEF-UJI Y TRANSFERIR LA METODOLOGIA Y RESULTADOS A FUTUROS ESTUDIOS QUE ASPIREN A ESTE SELLO INTERNACIONAL O A INTEGRAR LA DOCENCIA EN INGLES. PARA ESTE PROYECTO RECOPILAREMOS UN CORPUS DE GENEROS ORALES Y ESCRITOS EMPLEADOS POR LOS DOCENTES EN LAS ASIGNATURAS IMPARTIDAS EN INGLES: CLASES TEORICAS Y PRACTICAS, APUNTES, EXAMENES, O COMUNICACIONES CON ESTUDIANTES. EL ANALISIS SE ORGANIZARA EN TRES NIVELES: 1. IDENTIFICACION DE GENEROS; 2. IDENTIFICACION DE ELEMENTOS LINGUISTICOS Y MULTIMODALES Y SUS FUNCIONES PRAGMATICAS Y DISCURSIVAS; 3. UTILIZACION DE LOS GENEROS DOCENTES EN LAS ASIGNATURAS Y RELACION CON LOS ESTILOS DE DOCENCIA Y APRENDIZAJE. LA INVESTIGACION PERMITIRA DESCRIBIR LOS GENEROS DESDE UNA PERSPECTIVA MAS PRACTICA, SEGUN LA INTENCION COMUNICATIVA DEL DOCENTE Y DEL GRADO DE EFECTIVIDAD Y SATISFACCION DE DOCENTES Y DISCENTES. LOS RESULTADOS SE DIFUNDIRAN EN REVISTAS DEL CAMPO DE LA LINGUISTICA Y DE LA DOCENCIA UNIVERSITARIA (EN INGLES),Y DEL CAMPO DE EMPRESA, ECONOMIA Y FINANZAS, MAS UTIL PARA LOS PROFESORES DE CONTENIDO. IGUALMENTE, TRASLADAREMOS ESTOS RESULTADOS A LA FORMACION DEL PROFESORADO QUE IMPARTA DOCENCIA EN INGLES MEDIANTE RECOMENDACIONES PEDAGOGICAS Y PAUTAS DE MEJORA DE LA ACCION DOCENTE. (Spanish)

INTERNATIONALISATION IS PART OF THE STRATEGIC PLANS OF THE SPANISH UNIVERSITY. THIS STRATEGIC OBJECTIVE LEADS TO THE OVERALL PRESENCE OF ENGLISH AS AN ADDITIONAL LANGUAGE IN THE ACADEMIC CONTEXT, BOTH FOR THE SPECIFIC TEACHING OF THIS LANGUAGE AND FOR ITS ROLE AS A MEDIUM OF INSTRUCTION IN SOME SUBJECTS. THIS IS THE CASE OF THE DEGREE IN INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS, ECONOMICS AND FINANCE (INBEF-UJI) AT UNIVERSITAT JAUME I, WHERE 50% OF THE SUBJECTS ARE TAUGHT IN ENGLISH. THE USE OF ENGLISH AS A MEDIUM OF INSTRUCTION (EMI) REQUIRES AN ASSUMED KNOWLEDGE OF THE ACADEMIC GENRES USED IN HIGHER EDUCATION. THESE GENRES HAVE DISTINCTIVE CHARACTERISTICS AND MOST OF THEM HAVE A MULTIMODAL AND MULTI-CHANNEL NATURE. WRITTEN TEXTS ARE COMBINED WITH HYPERLINKS, IMAGES, COLOURS; ORAL COMMUNICATIONS CONSIST OF VERBAL AND NON-VERBAL DISCOURSE AND ARE SUPPORTED BY DIGITAL IMAGES, SOUND OR INTERACTIONS BETWEEN DIFFERENT PARTICIPANTS; AND ALL OF THEM ARE TRANSMITTED THROUGH DIFFERENT CHANNELS: SPEECH, WRITING, WATCHING, NAVIGATING IN THE INTERNET, AMONG OTHERS. THEREFORE, THE TEACHING-LEARNING PROCESS OF UNIVERSITY GENRES CONSTITUTES A CHALLENGE FOR TEACHERS AND STUDENTS, WHICH IS EVEN GREATER WHEN THE VEHICULAR LANGUAGE IS CHANGED._x000D_ IN RECENT YEARS, THE RESEARCH GROUP GRAPE HAS STUDIED THE DISCURSIVE AND MULTIMODAL CHARACTERISTICS OF ACADEMIC EVENTS IN ENGLISH. THIS PROJECT AIMS TO IDENTIFY AND ANALYSE THE FEATURES OF THE TEACHING GENRES USED BY LECTURERS TEACHING IN ENGLISH AND THEIR RELATIONSHIP WITH THE PEDAGOGICAL FUNCTIONS THEY DEVELOP IN THE CLASSROOM. FOR THIS REASON, IN THE RESEARCH TEAM WE HAVE TEACHERS EXPERIENCED IN THE DEGREE: 4 CONTENT TEACHERS WHO TEACH IN ENGLISH, THE TEACHER RESPONSIBLE FOR THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE SUBJECT, AND OTHER MEMBERS OF THE TEAM WHO HAVE BEEN TEACHERS IN THE PAST. WE ALSO INCLUDE IN THE WORK TEAM 3 UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS AS WELL AS 3 MEMBERS OF EXTERNAL UNIVERSITIES. THIS HETEROGENEITY IN THE TEAMS CAN PROVIDE A BETTER PERSPECTIVE OF THE MULTIMODAL CHARACTERISTICS OF THE TEACHING GENRES IN ENGLISH, THEIR RELATIONSHIP WITH THE TEACHING STYLES AND THE TRANSMISSION CHANNEL, AND THEIR USE IN THE CONTENT CLASS. THE ULTIMATE GOAL IS TO CONTRIBUTE TO THE SUCCESS OF THE INTERNATIONAL CERTIFICATION PROGRAM INBEF-UJI AND TRANSFER THE METHODOLOGY AND RESULTS TO FUTURE STUDIES THAT AIM AT THIS INTERNATIONAL STANDARD OR TO USE EMI. FOR THIS PROJECT, A CORPUS OF ORAL AND WRITTEN GENRES USED BY TEACHERS IN THE SUBJECTS TAUGHT THROUGH ENGLISH WILL BE COMPILED: THEORETICAL AND PRACTICAL CLASSES, NOTES, EXAMS, OR COMMUNICATIONS WITH STUDENTS. THE ANALYSIS WILL BE ORGANISED IN THREE LEVELS: 1. IDENTIFICATION OF GENRES; 2. IDENTIFICATION OF LINGUISTIC AND MULTIMODAL ELEMENTS AND THEIR PRAGMATIC AND DISCURSIVE FUNCTIONS; 3. USE OF TEACHING GENRES IN THE SUBJECTS AND RELATIONSHIP WITH THE STYLES OF TEACHING AND LEARNING. THE RESEARCH WILL HELP TO DESCRIBE THE GENRES FROM A MORE PRACTICAL PERSPECTIVE, ACCORDING TO THE COMMUNICATIVE INTENTION OF THE TEACHER AND THE DEGREE OF EFFECTIVENESS AND SATISFACTION OF TEACHERS AND STUDENTS. THE RESULTS WILL BE DISSEMINATED IN JOURNALS IN THE FIELD OF LINGUISTICS AND UNIVERSITY TEACHING (IN ENGLISH), AND IN THE FIELD OF BUSINESS, ECONOMICS AND FINANCE, MORE USEFUL FOR CONTENT TEACHERS. LIKEWISE, WE WILL TRANSFER THESE RESULTS TO TEACHER TRAINING THROUGH PEDAGOGICAL RECOMMENDATIONS AND GUIDELINES FOR IMPROVEMENT APPLICABLE TO SUBJECTS TAUGHT IN ENGLISH. (English)
