Σκοπός του έργου είναι η βελτίωση της επεξεργασίας λυμάτων, στο νησί της Θύμαινας του Δήμου Φούρνων Κορσεών, με την κατασκευή Εγκατάστασης Επεξεργασίας Λυμάτων (ΕΕΛ). Η ολοκλήρωση των προβλεπόμενων έργων επεξεργασίας και ασφαλούς διάθεσης των τριτοβάθμια επεξεργασμένων λυμάτων θα συμβάλλει αποφασιστικά στην πλήρη προστασία της παραθαλάσσιας περιοχής και του παράκτιου περιβάλλοντος των Φούρνων Κορσεών.
