Youth, far from becoming educated or getting a job, becomes ready for education and starts vocational education. Cross border educational offers are developed. Young people go on cross border exchanges to participate in professional courses targeting vocational education. This is the goal for a new project: Danish German Interregional Center for Practice Learning. Knowledge Center for Practice Learning and cross border, industry related educational offers. The region has an increasing lack of professional workforce. Youth without education are in the risk of marginalization. The actions in this field are often fragmented and local. We will focus regional knowledge and knowhow and apply in common action to make more young people ready for a vocational education. Local, certified expertise in practice learning in specific fields is made available for all young people in the region. More that 150 young people will in the project go through exchange programs supporting them in personal, vocational and social development, and at the same time qualifying the structure of a permanent center. RESULT: A new permanent knowledge center using cross border exchanges as an educational tool. Increased regional knowledge sharing and collaboration 5 - 10 specialized, certified LearningLabs anchored in local industry and locally anchored development projects and offering focused professional courses. A joint exchange program – in the exchange portal. Preparation of more young people to a vocational education. Strengthening youth - personally, socially and professionally – towards an education has an impact. As a professional the young person gets far better prospects – and the region gets a more professional workforce. That is positive, sustainable regional development. (English)
