UNO DEGLI OBIETTIVI DEL PICS Ê IL RECUPERO DI IMMOBILI DI ALTO SENSO SIMBOLICO A SPICCATA VALENZA STORICO CULTURALE FUNZIONALMENTE DISMESSI. E' IL CASO DELLA CHIESA DELLO SPIRITO SANTO RISALENTE AL SEC. XV, SITA IN PIAZZA CIRILLO. LA STRUTTURA INTERNA Ê UNA DELLE PIù SIGNIFICATIVE INTERPRETAZIONI DELL'ARCHITETTURA TARDO BAROCCA AVERSANA, RICCA DI PREGEVOLI APPARATI DECORATIVI. IL VANO PRESBITERIALE E I FONDALI DELLE CAPPELLE LATERALI PRESENTANO DECORAZIONI IN STUCCO PER BUONA PARTE ROVINATE. LA FACCIATA TARDO BAROCCA, SUDDIVISA IN DUE ORDINI, PRESENTA UN ALTO BASAMENTO IN PIETRA E COPPIE DI LESENE CHE SERRANO IL PORTALE SORMONTATO DA UN MEDAGLIONE DECORATO CON STUCCHI DOVE Ê ANCORA LEGGIBILE IL SIMBOLO DELL'ORDINE FRANCESCANO. IL LIVELLO SUPERIORE DELLA FACCIATA, ANCH'ESSO DELIMITATO DA DUE COPPIE DI LESENE CHE INQUADRANO UN'AMPIA APERTURA CENTRALE, SI RACCORDA CON LA TRABEAZIONE INFERIORE CON DUE VOLUTE MA Ê ATTUALMENTE PRIVO DEL CORNICIONE DI CORONAMENTO. QUEST'ULTIMO, INFATTI, (Italian)

ONE OF THE OBJECTIVES OF PICS Ê IS THE RECOVERY OF HIGH SYMBOLIC BUILDINGS WITH A STRONG CULTURAL HISTORICAL VALUE FUNCTIONALLY ABANDONED. THIS IS THE CASE OF THE CHURCH OF THE HOLY SPIRIT DATING BACK TO THE SEC. XV, LOCATED IN PIAZZA CIRILLO. THE INTERNAL STRUCTURE IS ONE OF THE MOST SIGNIFICANT INTERPRETATIONS OF THE LATE BAROQUE ARCHITECTURE AVERSANA, RICH IN VALUABLE DECORATIVE EQUIPMENT. THE PRESBYTERIAL COMPARTMENT AND THE BOTTOMS OF THE SIDE CHAPELS HAVE STUCCO DECORATIONS FOR THE MOST PART RUINED. THE LATE BAROQUE FACADE, DIVIDED INTO TWO ORDERS, HAS A HIGH STONE BASE AND PAIRS OF PILASTERS THAT SERRANO THE PORTAL SURMOUNTED BY A MEDALLION DECORATED WITH STUCCOES WHERE THE SYMBOL OF THE FRANCISCAN ORDER IS STILL LEGIBLE. THE UPPER LEVEL OF THE FAÇADE, DELIMITED BY TWO PAIRS OF PILASTERS THAT FRAME A WIDE CENTRAL OPENING, CONNECTS WITH THE LOWER TRABEATION WITH TWO VOLUTES BUT IS CURRENTLY DEVOID OF THE CROWNING CORNICE. THIS LAST ONE, IN FACT, (English)
