Summary RUFS2010 has dictated that the Stockholm region shall be the most attractive conurbation in Europe by 2030. In order to reach this goal, considerable amount of work is required including challenges with large in-regional differences with respect to employment rate, income, health and educational level. An including work-life with focus on full employment is a prerequisite for social cohesion in the region and to achieve social sustainability. The open unemployment rate of the municipality of Södertälje is today 14.6 procent (compared to 8.0 procent for the nation and 6.6 procent for Stockholm). Among the unemployed, refugees constitute a major share and are primarily settled in the million program areas Hovsjö, Ronna and Fornhöjden. These areas are currently characterized by low educational level, high unemployment rate and a dependency on economic support. It is with this as a background that the application for the MAP 2020 project has been developed and written. The Project MAP 2020 has in its formation been based on the analysis and conclusions drawn in the pre-study report, Kompetensanpassad arbetsmarknad – utvärdering av arbetsmarknadsinsatser i Södertälje kommun 2007-2013 (Competence adapted labor market – evaluation of labor market efforts in Södertälje Municipality 2007-2013). The pre-study focused on a number of success factors that proved to be effective, user dialogues with project participants, occupation tracks based on the employers requirements and needs, language support, different educational forms in order to support the individual need of different ways to learn, local and regional cooperation, reception and approaches when enrolling project participants. These aspects form a base to this project application, in which the intention is to create conditions for women and men, in the age span 15-64 years old, to achieve self-provision, either via employment or studies, and as an alternatively outcome to make verifiable advances towards the labor market. MAP 2020 will, contrary to previous efforts, base its operative efforts in the million program areas Fornhöjden, Hovsjö and Ronna since these areas face the largest challenges when it comes to social inclusion. The project aims to intersect and collaborate with other efforts in these areas e.g. the refurbishment of exterior environment and the institution of family centers. MAP 2020 will support this development by supplying a substantial refurbishment of the individuals in form of competence development in order to be able to participate on equal terms on the regular labor market. MAP 2020 will offer participating individuals three different occupation tracks that target both current and future recruitment needs in, health and social care, industrial production - technical service and food and green industry. The aim of the project is to supply the participants with the knowledge, support and tools needed for the individual to make independent and sustainable choices for her, his future professional career. To facilitate this, the project will prioritize recognition of prior learning (RPL) and prior learning assessment (PLA), language support, search out opportunities for job rotation over different occupations, education matching the need for different educational forms as well as career and vocational guidance. Since significant differences still exist between women and men s opportunities to establish themselves on the labor market, the project will make minimizing these differences a priority. To achieve this, the project will amongst other things, use the 4R method in order to create a gender balanced perspective in all work performed and to be able to take actions where and when needed. The project will equally promote all individuals that match the target criteria for the project. The project will collaborate with the project run by the municipality of Botkyrka and the City of Stockholm. The aim is to strengthen each other s project s outcome by exchanging experience and knowledge in areas of method development, gender mainstreaming, accessibility, non-discrimination and transnationality.
