    Prices growth for tobacco in EU countries influenced the increase of illegal tobacco products trafficking attempts from Belarus to neighboring EU countries. It leads to reduction of some countries budget influxes. Recently there has been an increase in illicit drug trafficking attempts. Natural persons and organized crime groups, usually of international character, carry out illegal goods trade. Fighting the illegal activity from the side of Polish and Belarusian customs services will increase security at both sides of the border. The project will result in faster and safer border crossing, considerable support in fighting organized crime and illicit drug and tobacco trafficking. Project aim is a solution of cross-border problems in the sphere of illegal migration, contraband and human trafficking through Belarusian-Polish border. The overall objective of the project is to increase the security level of the residents on the territory of Programme’s implementation by means of impeding illegal transportation of prohibited narcotic, psychotropic substances and tobacco, prevention of illegal migration. Specific objectives of the project: 1. Increase of project partners cynological departments capacity 2. Improvement of border crossing procedures 3. Enhancement of border security The implementation of the project will allow the cynological departments of customs authorities to apply specialized vehicles for the transportation of cynilogists and service dogs, to conduct trainings for the exchange of experience in the detection of narcotic drugs and tobacco products, that will increase the technical and human resources of law enforcement officers on the Polish-Belarusian border. Expected results of the project: increasing number of cases of detection of restricted and prohibited goods, reducing the time required for customs operations for passengers and goods crossing the customs border, as well as simplification of the procedure for customs control.
