    Food Pro∙tec∙ts is designed to bring top class technology innovation right into the heart of both the Dutch and German corporate landscape. To do so business people from both sides of the regional food production chain have been invited into different technology innovation clusters, where they are trained by innovation experts in order to develop and use new and emerging technologies. The new technologies that will result from the project are precision work: they will meet the specific demands of the local SME´s and are built to enhance their leading position compared to other agri-food areas around the world. Even more importantly, this project will contribute to the agricultural turnaround which responds to the expectations of today's society: a food production based on sustainability, proximity and quality. The project is set on a fixed term of four years. With 18 partners involved into seven innovation clusters the project has a total budget of almost 10 Million Euro. The thematic priority of the project activities is on the following aspects: upgrading consumer protection and information, reducing food and water waste in production facilities, increasing animal health and welfare and finding new ways to transform biomass into valuable products.
