Įvairiomis cheminėmis medžiagomis užterštos urbanizuotos teritorijos ne tik neleidžia sėkmingai plėtoti Anykščių rajono vystymo krypčių, bet ir blogina turistinės vietovės įvaizdį, mažina investicinį patrauklumą, kelia realią grėsmę žmonių sveikatai. 2011 m. UAB „Grota“, po Anykščių rajono savivaldybės inicijuoto konkurso tvarkymo planui parengti, atliko buvusio pesticidų sandėlio PTŽ Nr.7376 (toliau–Sandėlio) detalųjį ekogeologinį tyrimą. Tyrimo metu nustatyta, kad Sandėlio teritorijoje paviršiniame grunte ir gruntiniame vandeny pesticidų koncentracija viršija leistiną kiekį (RV ir DLK), taršos arealai yra gamtiniame biosferos poligone ant tvenkinio kranto, todėl yra reali galimybė teršiančioms medžiagoms patekti į tvenkinį, esantį saugomoje teritorijoje, teršalai gali plisti ir užteršti vis didesnį gruntinio vandens kiekį bei turėti neigiamą poveikį žmonių sveikatai. Siekiant sumažinti užterštos Sandėlio teritorijos neigiamą poveikį aplinkai ir žmonių sveikatai bei pavojingų cheminių medžiagų grunte ir požeminiame vandenyje lygį, inicijuojamas projektas „Užterštos sandėlio teritorijos Leliūnų k., Debeikių sen., Anykščių r. sav., sutvarkymas“, kurio metu bus sutvarkyta 1 užteršta teritorija, rekultivuotas 0,0349 ha žemės plotas. Urban areas contaminated with various chemicals not only prevent the successful development of Anykščiai district development directions, but also impair the image of the tourist area, reduce investment attractiveness and pose a real threat to human health. In 2011, Grota UAB, following the tender management plan initiated by Anykščiai District Municipality, carried out a detailed ecogeological study of the former pesticide warehouse PTŽ Nr.7376 (hereinafter ‘Sandėlis’). The study found that in the area of the Warehouse, the concentration of pesticides in surface soil and groundwater exceeds the permitted levels (RVs and MRLs), pollution areas are present in the natural biosphere polygone on the shore of the pond, therefore there is a real possibility for polluting substances to enter a pond located in the protected area, contaminants can spread and pollute an increasing amount of groundwater and have a negative impact on human health. In order to reduce the negative impact of the contaminated Warehouse area on the environment and human health and the level of dangerous chemicals in soil and groundwater, a project “Remediation of contaminated warehouse areas Leliūnai k., Debeikiai sen., Anykščiai district,” during which 1 contaminated site will be rehabilitated, 0.0349 ha of land has been rehabilitated.
