Climate change and its effects are one of the most important planning parameters for the coming years. The long-term and institutionalized cooperation between the Civil Defense / Protection Services of the two Member States is the basis for the continuation of the cooperation, with updated goals and perspectives. floods and other major disasters due to climate change ", aims to implement actions to improve operational cooperation and efficiency by the Member States involved, in cases of natural, technological and man-made disasters. At the same time, the aim is to develop a common risk management methodology, aiming at the protection of the environmental resource, which is "endangered" by existing or future risks (with emphasis on floods). The project aims, as mentioned, at both the prevention and the management of risks arising from the natural, technological and man-made environment. Includes the supply of special rescue / intervention / support vehicles and appropriate natural disaster prevention and management equipment (pumps). At the same time, joint training programs will be designed and implemented (in the form of workshops), on issues of coordination, organization, risk management of teams in cases of major incidents from major disasters. The programs will include both classroom teaching (theoretical department) and field exercises (practical department), with implementation both abroad. as well as on the Beneficiary basis. Benefiting from the implementation of the project, are both the involved services (Civil Defense / Civil Protection / Fire Services) and their staff, but mainly the citizens (permanent residents and visitors of the eligible area). The project is expected to contribute to the improvement of the effectiveness of the interventions of the involved bodies (Civil Defense / Civil Protection and Fire Services), which support and upgrade the level of environmental and civil protection provided, while ensuring the regional and economic development of their areas of responsibility. to the extent that they act adequately, deterrently and / or restrictively to the effects of natural and technological disasters. The added value of the project is to strengthen a broader effort to protect the environment, in the context of meeting both the EU's horizontal policy on sustainable development (Global Objectives) and economic and social cohesion in general.
