Objective: Invaluation of natural and evidence-based cardio trekking paths through open innovation methods for the sustainable promotion of intergenerational, health-oriented tourism. Content: With special attention to the Alpine region, including its cultural heritage (e.g. eco-model region (D), mountaineering villages (D), Roman region (D), alpine and mountain trails (AT)), existing hiking trails will be designed and mapped digitally, in which, in addition to the usual description of the length, altitude, path quality and duration, the cardiovascular stress intensities are identified. One parameter for the stress intensity is the heart rate. The identification of the natural paths and the classification of these are digitally supported (as a traffic light system, from red “intensive” to green “light intensity”) in existing hiking/tourism apps. For value creation and implementation in the participating communities, an open innovation approach is chosen, which is accompanied by sports science and medical care and involves regional stakeholders as well as the population. Two cross-border, climate-friendly and nature-related concepts for movement promotion/cardiotrekking in the Alps are being developed. The concepts serve to increase year-round, gentle health tourism and also to promote individual health literacy for tourists and locals. View: Connect2Move promotes new tourism innovations and offerings with “heart health”, through the gentle appreciation of paths with cultural heritage to cardiotrekking paths for the promotion of movement and at the same time knowledge transfer. Connect2Move promotes climate-neutral tourism in the long term, increases visitor numbers in the low season through a sustainable, natural “heart health concept” (e.g. certification of municipalities, hotels). (German)
