The Inclusion Assistant is a support in the school living and learning environment, so that successful participation in teaching becomes possible. Examples of teaching-related activities include assistance during classes, declarations of tasks, adaptation of content to individual needs or assistance in the handling of certain work materials. In many cases, activities in the fields are seamlessly linked. The focus of the activity is defined in the best interests of the child and differs individually. The prerequisite is a great flexibility and adaptability of the inclusion assistant, as the goal is always the greatest possible independence, as well as individual support for the personality development of the student concerned. The work of the Inclusion Assistants is linked to many other areas. Close cooperation with teachers, school and parents is a prerequisite, as is a good cooperation between all involved. This is the only way to overcome or mitigate a disability or its consequences and to integrate disabled people into society. The Inclusion Assistant also acts as an aid and communication tool to enable students to attend the appropriate form of schooling and to assist them in accepting and processing the teacher’s class-related offers.
