As an educational institution in the stonemason industry, the non-profit association of the Steinmetz- und Sculpture Crafts e.V. has developed various supplementary courses as a project for its apprentices. These are the “operating permission for forklift trucks”, the “operating permission for wheel loaders”, the “operating permission for loading cranes” and the “basic course for monument maintenance”. The participants of the courses are apprentices from the professions stonemason and stone sculptor based in Thürinen. In the course of the course for the acquisition of the “User Permission for Forklifts” the theory provides legal foundations, general topics of occupational safety in the handling of forklift trucks and measures for first aid. Other topics deal with the tasks and organisation of mechanical, in-house transport, the construction and operation of forklift trucks, the stability and handling of the load, as well as the maintenance and maintenance of forklift trucks. In practical training, the lifting and transport of loads and the safe operation of forklift trucks are taught. In the course of the course for the acquisition of the “operating authorisation for wheel loaders”, the theory provides legal foundations and general safety precautions in the handling of wheel loaders. Furthermore, the risk analysis, first aid measures and the individual types of machinery are dealt with. In practical exercises, working with wheel loaders is tested and the securing, maintenance and testing of the machines is discussed. In the course of the course for the acquisition of the “operating authorisation for loading cranes”, the theory provides legal foundations and general safety precautions when handling loading cranes. Other topics include crane technology, crane physics and first aid measures. In the practical part, the safe operation of loading cranes and the hitting and lifting of loads is tested. For this purpose, knowledge is also provided for securing, maintaining and testing loading cranes. In the supplementary course “Grundlagen der Denkmalpflege” the participating apprentices will be taught complementary knowledge and practical skills in the preservation and restoration of monuments. These include the legal foundations of the preservation of monuments and their historical development, the basics of the stucco craftsmanship, the drawing of profiles and the application, stone painting and marbling, the introduction to historical plastering techniques as well as an excursion to architectural stylistic studies from a conservation point of view. After completion of the courses, the participants receive a certificate of participation in the respective supplementary course, or an ID card about the respective operating authorisation. In the sense of sustainability, the supplementary courses are intended to facilitate later transfer of apprentices into an employment relationship of the training company, or to increase their chances on the labour market. The supplementary courses can be attended by all apprentices, regardless of gender, religious or ethnicity. If the stonemason profession was formerly predominantly male, more and more female apprentices have been added in recent years, which should also be allowed to participate in the supplementary courses. Nor does the school-leaving qualification of the participants matter. In order to ensure equal opportunities, all apprentices, from the main student to the high school graduate, are granted access to supplementary courses. The applicant has had experience in dealing with the target group for years and has already carried out numerous courses of this kind. Since the positive response of the course dividers has always been very high, it can also be assumed for the project requested. The additional courses applied for are carried out exclusively by the non-profit association of the Steinmetz- und Sculpture Crafts e.V. in Demitz-Thumitz. (English)

(German)
