The project is three-fold modular: technological, spatial and temporal: 1. The energy mix of efficient cogeneration and renewable energy sources such as solar energy and biomass provides a stable basis for heat supply. 2. The local heating network is gradually expanded spatially. It supplies an existing area, later 16 houses are to be integrated in the course of a re-compression. In order to promote renewable energy, a LowEx grid is sought. 3. Gradually, further parts of Weinstadt can be connected and heat supplied efficiently and increasingly renewablely. The aim is to reduce the emission of climate-damaging gases by successively increasing the share of renewable energy in the heating network. The construction of the heat supply on various technologies offers scope for economic optimisation of operations through the targeted use of energy sources depending on their availability and current fuel prices.
