    El objetivo general del proyecto es el desarrollo de una nueva tipologia de baldosa cerámica que presente unas características idénticas al de un pavimento hidráulico tradicional, pero con propiedades técnicas mejoradas, de forma que el consumidor final no pueda diferenciar entre el material cerámico y el cementoso. Para la nueva baldosa se utilizarán materiales cerámicos, así como pigmentos calcinados en lugar de las mezclas cementosas, áridos y óxidos de metales cromóforos que se emplean en los pavimentos hidráulicos._x000D_ _x000D_ Para ello deberán desarrollarse nuevos materiales cerámicos para la base de la baldosa y para la cubierta que permitan proporcionar unas características técnicas y estéticas lo más parecidas posibles a las que presenta el pavimento hidráulico. Un aspecto importante es definir el procedimiento de fabricación de la nueva baldosa, en particular el modo de aplicar un elevado grosor de la capa de cubierta, 2-4 mm (actualmente, los grosores de la capa de esmalte no suelen superar las 300 µm) y el procedimiento más adecuado para que la decoración penetre en la cubierta o para que directamente se aplique la cubierta ya decorada._x000D_ _x000D_ El disponer de este tipo de producto para una empresa como KEROS supone una clara diferenciación respecto de nuestros competidores, algunos de los cuales, por su gran tamaño y volumen de fabricación, pueden permitirse fabricar baldosas cerámicas convencionales a costes inferiores a los nuestros, lo que nos dificulta competir en determinados mercados.
