The church is located in Market Square, Gm. Zakrzew. The marketplace is one of the oldest parishes in the Lublin region, established as early as 1293, under an unusual call dedicated to Tomasz of Canterbury (an interesting example of ties with Western Christianity). The first church in Targowisk was erected in 1334. After the fire recorded in 1740, a wooden church was erected, which was preserved unchanged. Implementation of the task is important to halt the degradation of the facility, which will be the basis for further conservation work. They will contribute to preserving the Polish cultural and historical heritage, as well as improving the quality of life of the local community and improving the tourist attractiveness of the region, contributing to an increase in the number of people using cultural resources and an increase in the expected number of visits to the historic building. The project provides for the modernisation of equipment for carrying out cultural activities in the church, construction works and modernisation of technical infrastructure in order to adapt the facility to the needs of people with disabilities, improve energy efficiency and accessibility of the institution and extend the scope of its promotion. The subject of the investment are conservation, restoration works, construction works, multimedia and ICT equipment as well as land development of the plot (75 m²) with small architecture facilities with a place of service of MOR cyclists (assembly of the tourist world, bicycle stands and benches, including universal benches adapted to the needs of people with disabilities) and the use of renewable energy sources of RES (by replacing lamps illuminating the area into photovoltaic solar-powered lamps).
