The Eurodistrict PAMINA does not have sufficient cross-border mobility opportunities, especially in rail transport, an east-west connection between Baden and Alsace is missing. However, these could be connected by reactivating the Karlsruhe-Rastatt-Haguenau-Saarbrücken railway line. This reactivation would generally change cross-border mobility in the PAMINA area. For this reason, the Eurodistrict PAMINA wants to develop a multimodal mobility concept, which, while focusing on reactivation, involves improving all other modes of transport. The aim is to develop the entire PAMINA region in a sustainable way through improved cross-border mobility. The feasibility study will therefore examine the conditions under which the disused rail link Karlsruhe-Rastatt-Haguenau-Saarbrücken reactivates and how cross-border mobility in the Eurodistrict PAMINA can generally be improved.
