The planned project encourages forestry companies and wood processing companies along the value chain in the border area of Austria, Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg to strengthen cooperation for wood in short and emission-optimised paths. In a structured process, institutional and technical framework conditions are analysed and the digital spatial data infrastructure (GDI) is set up to establish emission-optimised distribution channels and certification systems. The implementation of the GDI creates the technical foundations for transparent and strong origin or environmental labels. The integration of the relevant stakeholders (forest owner associations, forestry operations, transport logistics and wood processing industry) into the process aims to intensify the regional wood value chain, at the same time save transport routes and reduce associated climate-effective and health-damaging emissions. In addition, cross-border institutional cooperation supports businesses and businesses in the field of digitalisation and public relations. The aim of the project is to create the foundations for increasingly integrating companies and businesses along the value chain into the use of digital instruments and spatial data, to establish regional cooperation detached from national borders and thus to reduce transport. With the targeted support of companies in digitisation and the digital collection of material and goods flows — with the aim of a data flow without media breach — efficiency in inventory management or low-emission procurement is optimised throughout the wood value chain and increased competitiveness. Another goal is to strengthen and facilitate the implementation of an environmental label (e.g. wood from Hier) in funding guidelines of the public sponsors in the respective countries, districts or municipalities. The standard implementation of established origin or environmental labels in public tenders aims to achieve a sustainable effect and a binding incentive for greater regionality on the part of economic operators. The results from the Interreg — Alpine Space project “CaSCo” are used for this purpose. The knowledge gained there on the promotion of environmentally friendly wood products can be applied 1:1. Overall, the efficiency of cooperation will be improved, the regional material flows and availability are recorded, the sustainable distribution of the raw material and wood is supported and climate protection and health-related objectives are supported. Mit dem geplanten Projekt werden Forstwirtschaftsbetriebe und Holzverarbeitungsunternehmen entlang der Wertschöpfungskette im Grenzraum Österreich, Bayern und Baden-Württemberg zur verstärkten Zusammenarbeit für Holz der kurzen und emissionsoptimierten Wege animiert. In einem strukturierten Prozess werden institutionelle und technische Rahmenbedingungen analysiert und die digitale Geodateninfrastruktur (GDI) zur Etablierung von emissionsoptimierten Vertriebswegen und Zertifizierungssystemen aufgebaut. Durch die Implementierung der GDI werden die technischen Grundlagen für transparente und starke Herkunfts- oder Umweltlabels geschaffen. Durch die Einbindungen der relevanten Stakeholder (Waldbesitzerzusammenschlüsse, Forstbetriebe, Transportlogistik und holzverarbeitende Industrie) in den Prozess soll die regionale Wertschöpfungskette Holz intensiviert, gleichzeitig Transportwege eingespart und damit verbundene klimawirksame und gesundheitsschädliche Emissionen reduziert werden. Zusätzlich werden durch die grenzüberschreitende institutionelle Zusammenarbeit die Betriebe und Unternehmen im Bereich der Digitalisierung und der Öffentlichkeitsarbeit unterstützt. Ziel des Projektes ist es die Grundlagen zu schaffen, um Unternehmen und Betriebe entlang der Wertschöpfungskette verstärkt in die Nutzung digitaler Instrumente und Geodaten einzubinden, regionale Zusammenarbeit losgelöst von Ländergrenzen zu etablieren und damit Transporte zu reduzieren. Mit der gezielten Unterstützung der Betriebe in der Digitalisierung und der digitalen Erfassung der Stoff- und Warenströme - mit dem Ziel eines Datenflusses ohne Medienbruch - wird die Effizienz in der Bestandsführung bzw. emissionsarmen Beschaffung in der gesamten Wertschöpfungskette Holz optimiert und die Wettbewerbsfähigkeit gesteigert. Ein weiteres Ziel ist die Stärkung und erleichterte Implementierung eines Umweltlabels (wie z.B. Holz von Hier) in Förderrichtlinien der öffentlichen Fördergeber in den jeweiligen Ländern, Landkreisen oder Gemeinden. Durch die standardmäßige Implementierung von etablierten Herkunfts- oder Umweltlabels in öffentlichen Ausschreibungen soll ein nachhaltiger Effekt und verbindlicher Anreiz für mehr Regionalität auf Seiten der Wirtschaftsakteure erzielt werden. Dazu werden die Ergebnisse aus dem Interreg - Alpine Space Projekt „CaSCo“ genutzt. Die dort gewonnen Erkenntnisse zur Förderung umweltfreundlicher Holzprodukte können 1:1 Anwendung finden. In Summe wird die Effizienz der Zusammenarbeit verbessert, die regionalen Stoffflüsse und Verfügbarkeiten erfasst, der nachhaltige Vertrieb des Roh- und Wertstoffs Holz gestützt und klimaschutz- und gesundheitsrelevante Ziele unterstützt.
