Education to preserve old Saxon and Polish fruit varieties in the border region
Property / summary

The aim of the project is to link and extend the joint German-Polish educational offer to protect, maintain, maintain and sustainably use straw fruit stocks. There are 2 varieties meadows to ensure the variety material, for the later donation to interested people and as a living museum. As part of the project, model innovative conservation and utilisation concepts for 6 stray bobst meadows are to be demonstrated. These model areas will serve as places of education and are part of the common educational infrastructure. Cross-border training courses on all questions of orchard management (such as tree cutting, finishing, variety selection, variety variety, meadow care, storage, etc.) are conducted for experts, in particular young young professionals, orchard managers and the interested public. In particular, pupils should be sensitised to the protection of old varieties. Public, cross-border and regional dialogue events are intended to help citizens, in particular decision-makers, to protect and sustainable use of orchards and promote the continuation of activities and the dissemination of model trials in good time. The establishment of a network of varieties preservation, consisting of pomologists, operators of the variety gardens, orchard managers, etc., should also help safeguard the work beyond the end of the project.
