The project will stimulate active and sustainable use of cultural and historical heritage through the implementation of joint activities. As a main output and novelty in the field of tourism the Regional Loyalty Program will be developed and launched as a sustainable network of culture and tourism objects, providing tourists with special bonuses and offers, making them staying longer in the region or returning once again. Monuments in the most attractive regional tourism destinations - the Daugavpils Fortress and the Polotsk historical centre - will be improved. A range of equipment, purchased within the project, will contribute in preservation and development of the traditional crafts and skills. Different big cross-border events will be held, in order to boost tourists' interest for the cross-border region in general. Partners believe that the action will help to revive regional heritage, improve tourism infrastructure and services of the cultural and historical heritage sites and it will positively influence on economic and social welfare, territorial cohesion and cultural diversity of the cross-border region.
