JOINT CHALLENGE: The project focuses on supporting the development of new products and the internationalization of technology based companies in developed markets of Switzerland (SUI) and Italy (ITA) wherein consortium partners come exclusively from the eastern part of eligible area where these companies don’t have opportunities to participate in bilateral programs with SUI and ITA. OBJECTIVE: The main objective of the project is to increase number of internationalized SMEs in border area, especially for technology and innovation-oriented companies, as for the economy and technology providers in the program area, where sustain international growth and export markets are open. OUTPUTS: 1 Strategic Action Plan of established structures for cooperation with target markets in SUI & ITA; 1 export Academy SME training program; 24 supported internationalizing SMEs, min. 2 developed new products/services which will be subject of internationalization; 2 international events (1x SUI, 1x ITA), min 10 B2B meetings. APPROACH: Activities will be supported by experts from SI-AT and those of target regions in SUI & Northern ITA, where selected partner organizations already signed a Letter of support (Technopark Zurich: network of 6 parks in 4 cantons; AFIL Cluster Lombardy, Industrial Association Treviso/Veneto, IDM South Tirol,CNA Emilia Romagna). INNOVATION: reflects in project approach, where long-term sustainable strategic action plan for SUI & ITA in field of "internationalization technology & innovation" and with partners, will indicate a direction of future development and will be supported by a custom-designed SMEs’ training program, implemented in framework of export Academy. Businesses will be able to benefit from shared contacts, networks, knowledge, tools while scheme will enable search for joint strategic opportunities, the development of cross-border value chains/clusters, which all are crucial for the success of internationalization of SMEs.
