The project proposal aims to improve the quality of life and access to social inclusion services for people with disabilities and people over 65 years old, with restrictions or inability to self-service in the municipality of Sliven by supporting and developing the existing Social Services Unit in a home environment at Home Social Patronage. It will be implemented in partnership between the Municipality of Sliven and the Foundation for Crime Prevention IGA. The project will start with the recruitment of one healthcare professional to the Unit and the hiring of 65 personal assistants. In a second phase, 40 new personal assistants will be recruited and a ‘social activities’ assistant will be appointed to the unit. Also at the beginning of the project will be developed by the partner Program for the activity of the service. Experts of the partner will train the team of the Unit and Social Assistants — one introductory and two supporting trainings. Also, the partner’s experts will perform psychological support to staff, counselling and supervision to improve its efficiency and quality of work. The applicant will in turn provide psychological and motivational support to the users of the service through their specialists. The project will cover 240 users to work with in their homes or in the Unit. Information and publicity activities are foreseen to promote the project, including: 3 press conferences for media representatives, institutions and organisations interested in the topic and project management team; 2nd publications in a local newspaper; 2 information plates; 45 pieces of information posters; 90 notebooks; 100 pieces of information brochures and 2 radio messages.
