    La Région anime l'observatoire régional des risques afin d'améliorer et de diffuser la connaissance sur les risques naturels, de développer la prise de conscience de ces risques et d'informer sur les actions de prévention menées. Ce projet concerne les territoires de l'ancienne Région du Languedoc Roussillon. La Région est particulièrement vulnérable aux risques naturels et notamment au risque d'inondation. Selon "l'évaluation préliminaire des risques d'inondation" réalisée e 2011 par l'État, 1,5 millions d'habitants et près de 700 000 emplois permanents sont concernés dans notre région. Les populations saisonnières et l'économie touristique sont également fortement menacées. (French)
