Many young people lack a positive identification with the district. They do not see it as worth living, not as a place of experimentation and testing, because it simply lacks the framework in which they can experience self-effectiveness. There is also a lack of attractiveness in terms of professional, social and cultural self-realisation, which is reflected by the high unemployment rate, the lack of cultural opportunities and the lack of meeting rooms in the district. The objective of the action is to empower young people to shape the district. To give them a new sense of self-confidence and to enable them to plan, organise and implement their own small changes in the district through targeted transfer of responsibility. In particular, small-scale projects offer the potential to provide young people with core competences for integration into the labour market, such as the ability of self-organisation, working in a team and the timely completion of tasks without overwhelming them at the same time. The time horizon is appropriate to young people’s understanding of time, so that the motivation cannot be lost due to long and complex votes. Further details can be found in the attached concept. (German)
