Los desafíos futuros de la industria agroalimentaria pasan por solucionar problemas relacionados con la producción de alimentos y el aprovechamiento y valorización de sus subproductos. El CTC pretende ampliar su equipamiento para obtener compuestos de interés a partir de estos subproductos. Este equipamiento permitirá mejorar los rendimientos de extracción empleando tecnologías que ofrecerán mayores beneficios ambientales y económicos en comparación con las tecnologías convencionales. El equipamiento que se propone en la presente convocatoria es más respetuoso con el medioambiente ya que no genera ningún tipo de producto de desecho, y permite la extracción sin aumentar la temperatura y por lo tanto, sin alterar sustancialmente las propiedades organolépticas. La adquisición del equipamiento científico-técnico solicitado permitirá la extracción de compuestos bioactivos que pueden incorporarse a los alimentos para el planteamiento de nuevos productos (funcionales y saludables). Este equipamiento mejorará la capacidad competitiva del CTC, y siendo una apuesta directa por las actividades de I+D+i en el sector agroalimentario gallego. Junto con el equipamiento actual podrá convertirse en un laboratorio de referencia en el análisis, tratamiento y revalorización de subproductos de la industria agroalimentaria. Además, posibilitará su uso por parte de otros investigadores, así como de empresas con las que habitualmente trabaja y que avalan el proyecto. (Spanish)

The future challenges of the agri-food industry go through solving problems related to food production and the use and valorization of its by-products. The CTC intends to expand its equipment to obtain compounds of interest from these by-products. This equipment will improve the extraction yields using technologies that will offer greater environmental and economic benefits compared to conventional technologies. The equipment proposed in this call is more respectful with the environment since it does not generate any type of waste product, and allows extraction without increasing the temperature and therefore, without substantially altering the organoleptic properties. The acquisition of the requested scientific-technical equipment will allow the extraction of bioactive compounds that can be incorporated into the food for the developing of new products (functional and healthy). This equipment will improve the competitive capacity of the CTC, and being a direct bet for the R+D activities in the Galician agri-food sector. Together with the current equipment, it will be able to become a reference laboratory in the analysis, treatment and revaluation of by-products of the agri-food industry. In addition, it will make possible its use by other researchers, as well as companies with which it usually works and that endorse the project. (English)
