This project improves the mapping of the Samos Karlovasou highway in the section between the “Petalides” site and the entrance to the settlement “Agios Demetriou” about 3 km long. The improvement concerns the implementation of those elements which will ensure that the conditions of communication between the two major urban centres on the island are better than the previous situation. In other words, traffic safety will be increased, the functionality of the road network will be improved and the communication of the traditional properties with the main road will now take place in the best possible way. All this will contribute to the service and to the increase of both the productive and commercial, agricultural and mainly tourism activities that are being developed and will continue to grow along the road at a higher rate. Με το συγκεκριμένο έργο γίνεται βελτίωση της χάραξης της εθνικής οδού Σάμου Καρλοβάσου στο τμήμα μεταξύ της θέσης «Πεταλίδες» και της εισόδου στον οικισμό «Αγίου Δημητρίου» μήκους περίπου 3 χιλιομέτρων. Η βελτίωση αφορά την υλοποίηση των στοιχείων εκείνων που θα εξασφαλίσουν ότι οι συνθήκες επικοινωνίας μεταξύ των δύο μεγάλων αστικών κέντρων της νήσου θα είναι καλύτερες σε σχέση με την παλαιότερη κατάσταση. Θα αυξηθεί δηλαδή η ασφάλεια στις μετακινήσεις, θα βελτιωθεί η λειτουργικότητα του οδικού δικτύου και η επικοινωνία των παρόδιων ιδιοκτησιών με την κεντρική οδική αρτηρία θα γίνεται πλέον με τον καλύτερο δυνατό τρόπο. Όλα αυτά θα συμβάλουν στην εξυπηρέτηση αλλά και στην αύξηση τόσο των παραγωγικών όσο και των εμπορικών, αγροτικών και κυρίως τουριστικών δραστηριοτήτων που αναπτύσσονται και θα συνεχίσουν με μεγαλύτερους ρυθμούς να αναπτύσσονται κατά μήκος της οδού.
