Property / summary: The cross-border city network MONT and EUREGIO signed a Letter of Intent on 16 November 2017, with the aim of improving the German-Dutch accessibility of the border region on all modalities. In particular, the cross-border ambitions in terms of railway mobility are high. The desire and urgency to build a structural, effective Dutch-German cooperation structure is therefore great. Despite the fact that there has been cooperation within the EUREGIO region for some time now with regard to cross-border (railway) mobility, it has to be said that there are hardly any broadly shared policies and there is no structured substantive coordination or coordinated lobbying. An initial analysis shows that the Dutch and German parties are not yet able to find each other to a sufficient level on their own initiative. In addition, there is a fragmentation of initiatives and mutual agreements that stand in the way of an effective and efficient implementation of the ambitions. The EuregioRail project aims to achieve this efficiency. The ambition to draw up a joint Euroregional implementation agenda for cross-border rail connections, together with a corresponding lobby plan and communication strategy, is the first priority. The cross-border city network MONT and EUREGIO signed a Letter of Intent on 16 November 2017, with the aim of improving the German-Dutch accessibility of the border region on all modalities.
