Projektet DARIS syftar till att öka konkurrenskraften och lönsamheten hos tillverkande små och medelstora industriföretag i norra Sverige (Norr- och Västerbotten) genom att stötta företagen i införandet av automation och robotar i sina produktionssystem. Projektet kommer att långsiktigt säkra att regionens tillverkande SMF bygger upp kompetens inom automation och robotisering, samt stötta företagen i införande processen (optimera, specificera, beställa, driftsätta och löpande underhålla) av automation- och robotisering i sina tillverkningsprocesser allt för att kunna möta sina kunders krav och efterfrågan. Förmågan att ta till sig ny innovativ digital tekniken i de små och medelstora industriföretagen, och framför allt automation och robotisering, går alldeles för långsamt. Orsakerna till detta är många: bristande kompetens och insikt om automation/robotiseringens möjligheter, saknar beställarkompetens och kompetens att driftsätta och underhålla system, låg lönsamhet gör att man avvaktar med sina investeringar, behöver bra beslutsunderlag för att komma till investering, samt bristande stöd från det regionala innovationssystemet inom robotisering. Både på nationell och regional nivå konstaterar man att takten att ta till sig automation och robotar i de små och medelstora industriföretagen i går alldeles för långsamt. För att möta denna utmaning har regeringens lanserat en nyindustrialiseringsstrategi för Sverige under namnet Smart Industri, där man vill öka investeringar inom automation och robotar i de små och medelstora industriföretagen. Projekt DARIS möter dessa utmaningar hos industrin i norra Sverige och är helt i linje med de nationella strategierna och satsningarna. IUC Norr har sedan 2017 etablerat ett nära samarbete med ledande automations- och robotiseringscenter i landet (Automation Region/Mälardalens högskola, Robotdalen och RISE IVF) och har framgångsrikt initierat och genomfört satsningar på nationell nivå (PILAR, Robotlyftet). Genom detta samarbete har det skapats en unik möjlighet att nu genomföra riktade satsningar inom automation/robotisering till regionen tillverkande SMF inom genom projekt DARIS. (Swedish)

The Daris project aims to increase the competitiveness and profitability of manufacturing small and medium-sized industrial companies in northern Sweden (North and Västerbotten) by supporting companies in the introduction of automation and robots in their production systems. The project will ensure in the long term that the region’s manufacturing SMF builds up expertise in automation and robotisation, as well as support the companies in the implementation process (optimising, specifying, ordering, commissioning and continuously maintaining) of automation and robotisation in their manufacturing processes in order to meet their customers’ demands and demand. The ability to embrace new innovative digital technology in small and medium-sized industrial companies, and above all automation and robotisation, is far too slow. The reasons for this are many: lack of competence and insight into the possibilities of automation/robotisation, lacking customer competence and competence to deploy and maintain systems, low profitability means that you wait with your investments, need good decision support to come to investment, and lack of support from the regional innovation system in robotisation. Both at national and regional levels, it is noted that the pace of absorbing automation and robots in the small and medium-sized industrial companies yesterday is far too slow. To meet this challenge, the government has launched a new industrialisation strategy for Sweden under the name Smart Industri, where it wants to increase investments in automation and robots in the small and medium-sized industrial companies. Project Daris meets these challenges in northern Sweden and is fully in line with national strategies and initiatives. IUC Norr has since 2017 established a close collaboration with leading automation and robotisation centers in the country (Automation Region/Mälardalen University, Robotdalen and RISE IVF) and has successfully initiated and implemented initiatives at national level (PILAR, Robotliftet). Through this collaboration, it has created a unique opportunity to now implement targeted initiatives in automation/robotisation to the region manufacturing SMEs within through project Daris.
