Malmö stad har utmaningar med hög arbetslöshet och att integrera vissa grupper på arbetsmarknaden, som unga, personer utan gymnasiebetyg och utomnordiskt födda. Samtidigt befinner sig staden i en region med hög innovationskraft, rikt företagande och goda kommunikationsmöjligheter mellan orterna. I regionen verkar samverkansorganisationen MalmöLundregionen (MLR), där 12 kommuner samarbetar kring strategiska frågor, som exempelvis näringslivsfrågor. Detta projekt syftar till att hitta nya, innovativa samverkansformer, rutiner och arbetssätt inom och mellan kommunerna i MLR vad gäller ökad tillväxt med avseende på näringsliv och sysselsättning. Projektet ska bidra till att stärka MLR-perspektivet i det befintliga arbetet och hitta sätt att kommunicera regionens styrkor och potential. Projektet är ett samverkansprojekt mellan Malmö stad, som är projektägare, och Lunds kommun, Skurups kommun och Invest in Skåne. Projektet har fyra huvudaktiviteter som löper parallellt under hela projekttiden. Den första aktiviteten fokuserar på förbättrad kommunservice gentemot företag och den andra på att locka fler företagsetableringar till regionen. I den tredje aktiviteten utreds hur utbud av tillgänglig kompetens på ett systematiskt sätt kan matchas bättre med näringslivets och de mindre kommunernas behov, såväl med fokus på att bemanna bristyrken som inte kräver högre utbildning, som att stärka mindre orters tillgång till högutbildad arbetskraft. Den fjärde aktiviteten är inriktad på nyföretagande och ämnar utforma bättre rutiner och system i MLR för att fånga upp och stötta personer som vill starta nya företag. (Swedish)

The city of Malmö has challenges with high unemployment and to integrate certain groups in the labour market, such as young people, people with no upper secondary school grades and non-Nordic born. At the same time, the city is in a region with high innovation, rich entrepreneurship and good communication opportunities between the cities. The collaboration organisation MalmöLund Region (MLR) operates in the region, where 12 municipalities work together on strategic issues, such as business issues. This project aims to find new, innovative forms of collaboration, procedures and ways of working within and between the municipalities in MLR in terms of increased growth with regard to business and employment. The project will help to strengthen the MLR perspective in the existing work and find ways to communicate the region’s strengths and potential. The project is a collaborative project between the City of Malmö, which is project owner, and Lund Municipality, Skurup Municipality and Invest in Skåne. The project has four main activities that run parallel throughout the project period. The first activity focuses on improved municipal services towards companies and the second on attracting more business establishments to the region. The third activity investigates how the supply of available skills can be systematically matched to the needs of business and smaller municipalities, both with a focus on manning short-term jobs that do not require higher education, as well as strengthening the access to highly educated localities. The fourth activity is focused on start-ups and aims to design better procedures and systems in MLR to capture and support people who want to start new businesses. (English)
