The overall objective of this cross-border Lithuania and Belarus project (hereinafter – Project) is to enhance the level of children’ social inclusion by developing foreign language and technologies skills via improved services for socially vulnerable children. Specific objective of the Projects is to develop new non-formal education services for vulnerable children through the cross-border cooperation. Nowadays it is important to gain and develop relevant and high-quality skills, such as foreign language and communication skills, critical and interdisciplinary thinking, to solve creatively everyday problems in an innovative way and in a teamwork in order to be competitive in the labor market in future. The above-mentioned skills should be developed since early stage of the personal development, so they root in a personality. However, children from the low-income families and from social risk families are often facing lack of motivation at school. Furthermore, they often cannot afford to participate in paid capacity building classes and workshops. Thus, there is a real demand to create appropriate conditions for proper development of socially vulnerable children. Project will be implemented by Lithuanian and Belarusian institutions - Lazdijai district Veisiejai Sigitas Geda gymnasium (LB, LT) and five partners: Lazdijai kindergarten-school „Vyturelis“ (LT), Lazdijai Motiejus Gustaitis gymnasium (LT), School No. 7 Grodno (BY), Gymnasium No. 5 Grodno (BY), Ozyorsk school (BY). All participating institutions will organize language and robotics classes and joint socio-cultural events for socially vulnerable children, i.e. children from socially supported families, children with special needs, children who have behavioral problems and other children facing social exclusion. It is expected that Project implementation will contribute towards development of the innovative competencies of socially vulnerable children by using modern technologies in the education process.
